Thank you, Lord, for reminding us to put you first!

The first day of school is tomorrow! (for Madi, at least!) I've been counting down the days all summer! Drake starts kindergarten, so they stagger their first days. He'll start Wednesday. We took Madi school shopping - for the 4th time - today. She wants to be the coolest dressed girl in school, but I'd prefer her to be the most well mannered. Funny how manners don't matter anymore. I hope that she doesn't let " being cool" take over her life. Young people now-a-days seem to care more about what their friends think than what God thinks. He should be our #1 priority. So many times, even us adults, do this. We try to "keep up with the Jones' ". God wants us to put him first, above all else..........our jobs, our friends, our neighbors, our finances, our needs, & yes, our families. We have to show sacrifice for Him. If we live the way He wants us to, He will supply our needs & the desires of our heart!!!

Matthew 6:31-34
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or , What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Thank you, Lord, for reminding us to put you first!
